Interested in Becoming a Member of AED?

There are two types of membership: National and Affiliate. In order to attain membership you need to complete the requirements listed below for each membership type. Throughout the year you will be given the opportunity to earn points. Points are given out for volunteering with AED events and attending membership meetings. Once you pay the one-time membership fee, you need to maintain 15 points per year to maintain membership.


Inductions are held every Spring semester!


HOW TO BECOME A NATIONAL MEMBER


By becoming a National member. You will be joining the National Organization as a life member and will receive information on conferences and the newsletter. 


  • One must obtain 20 points by the week prior to induction.
  • You must have a cumulative GPA and BCPM GPA of at least 3.2 
  • You must have completed 45 credits. 
  • There is a one-time membership fee of $75.
  • Potential members who meet the GPA and are transferring from one school to one with an active chapter will be eligible for membership after the completion of one semester or two quarters at the new school. The grade point averages used to determine scholastic eligibility at the new school will be determined by averaging all grades from both old and new schools. 

NOTE:   APPLICATIONS ARE NOT BEING ACCEPTED UNTIL SPRING SEMESTER!


MEMBERSHIP FEES ARE ONLY PAYABLE BY CHECK. Make checks payable to "Alpha Epsilon Delta"

The application, supplementary release form, and your payment must be submitted together; otherwise we will NOT process your application!

Application: You may leave the 'Date of Initiation' blank, as we will fill that part for you. You many turn in your application to the Student Involvement Office, AED mailbox.

After induction, members MUST maintain an active status by obtaining 15 per semester until graduation in order to receive a graduation cord.


Note: *Freshmen are welcome to apply for membership. National members are qualified to run for the following nationally recognized positions: President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Historian. Affiliate members may run for all other chapter-specific positions: Events Coordinator, Fundraiser, and Webmaster.


HOW TO BECOME AN AFFILIATE MEMBER


  • Students that are not eligible for national membership due to grades or student tenure may be invited to become affiliate members of their schools' chapter and are expected to apply for national membership upon eligibility.
  • There is NO GPA requirements
  • One must obtain 20 points by the week prior to induction of each year
  • Affiliate members do not enjoy full membership privileges: may not vote, apply for scholarships, officer status or wear AED insignia.

Starting Fall 2008 you must obtain 20 points for Affiliate membership by the week prior to induction in order to be inducted. New accumulation of points will start the fall semester after induction. AED offers plenty of opportunities for you to earn points throughout the semester.

After induction, members MUST maintain an active status by obtaining 20 points per semester until graduation in order to receive a graduation cord.
